EPR Registration & EPR Certificates for E-Waste in India
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requires producers, importers and brand owners of electronics to register on the CPCB EPR portal and meet yearly e-waste recycling targets under the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022. Zolopik, a KSPCB-authorised e-waste recycler, generates EPR certificates on the CPCB portal for the e-waste we recycle and helps producers meet their targets with full documentation.

Our EPR services
Who needs EPR registration?
- Manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment listed in Schedule I
- Producers and brand owners selling EEE under their own brand, including online
- Importers of EEE
- Refurbishers and recyclers, who register under their own category
How EPR works under the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022
- Register on the CPCB EPR portal under the right category (producer, manufacturer, refurbisher or recycler).
- Get your target. CPCB sets annual targets based on the EEE you placed on the market and each product's average life (Schedule I EEE codes). Targets increase each year under Schedule III.
- Obtain EPR certificates from registered recyclers like Zolopik, generated on the portal for e-waste actually recycled.
- File returns quarterly and annually on the portal.
- Stay compliant. Missing targets can attract environmental compensation from CPCB.

EPR FAQs
What is EPR for e-waste in India?
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) makes producers, importers and brand owners of electrical and electronic equipment responsible for the environmentally sound recycling of their products at end of life, under the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022.
Is EPR registration mandatory for e-waste?
Yes. Every manufacturer, producer, refurbisher and recycler of equipment listed in Schedule I must register on the CPCB EPR portal. Doing business without registration is not allowed.
Who needs EPR registration?
Manufacturers, brand owners and importers who sell electrical or electronic equipment listed in Schedule I in India, including online sellers under their own brand.
What is an EPR certificate?
An EPR certificate is generated on the CPCB portal by a registered recycler for the quantity of e-waste it has recycled. Producers obtain these certificates to meet their annual EPR targets.
How are EPR targets calculated?
Targets are based on the quantity of EEE a producer has placed on the market and the average life of each product (Schedule I EEE codes), and the target percentage increases year on year under Schedule III of the rules.
What happens if a producer misses its EPR target?
CPCB can levy environmental compensation on producers who do not meet their targets, and unmet targets carry forward.
Where can I find the EEE codes for my products?
Download our EEE code document (Schedule I) on this page. It lists every equipment type, its EEE code and its average life.
How does Zolopik help with EPR?
Zolopik is a KSPCB-authorised e-waste recycler (Auth. No. PCB/WMC/157/E-WASTE/2022/675). We recycle e-waste in an environmentally sound way, generate EPR certificates on the CPCB portal and transfer them to producers, and support take-back and awareness programmes.
What returns must producers file?
Registered entities file quarterly and annual returns on the CPCB EPR portal by the end of the month following the quarter or year.
Do refurbishers and recyclers also need registration?
Yes. Refurbishers and recyclers must register on the CPCB portal under their own category. An entity in more than one category registers separately for each.
